Hair Extensions

Your hair must be at least 4 inches long.

I do not recommend getting extensions if you; pull on your hair, do not like the feeling of something in your hair all the time, have recently undergone surgery, have an allergy to metal, swim often, or have any medical conditions that involve hair loss extensions are probably not right for you.

Wefts are a string of sewn hair extensions that are typically 10-12″ in length that are used like a headband when installed.

Rows are the sections that are used to install the wefts.

I only used hand-tied wefts.

Hand-tied wefts are stitched by hand creating a thin root. They are lighter, thinner, and more customizable for these reasons.

Machine wefts are bundled and then stitch with the use of a machine. Because of the machine stitching, the wefts are thicker, heavier, and limited in color combinations.

I have been trained by leading extension artists across the country in multiple hand-tied weft installation methods and have combined my knowledge of multiple techniques to utilize the best aspects of some and eliminate the flaws of others. My Hand-Tied installation technique allows for pain-free installation, customization to each client, and a seamless blend that is easily concealed within the client’s natural hair.

I am very transparent about my pricing so that there are never any surprises! You can find all of my services + pricing information, as well as maintenance pricing and additional treatments on my website.

I have been trained in:

  • Natural Beaded Rows / NBR
  • Habit Extension Method
  • Invisible Bead / IBE

I have learned valuable elements of installation from each of these and now use my own Hand-Tied method on all my clients. I also continue to travel for advanced education at least twice annually.

Proper technique is critical to a pain-free installation and comfortable 6-8 week grow-out. I’m so sorry if you have experienced pain from hand-tied extensions in the past! There are a variety of factors that may have contributed to that, but I’m happy to say I have no complaints of pain from my clients, and I will do everything to make sure you are comfortable during your appointment and for the duration of your experience with your hair!

All extension hair differs when it comes to lifespan, but it can last up to a 8 months with proper care. Rest assured we will go over all the in-salon and at-home care required to keep your extensions looking their best.

When replacing hair, you may have the option to get new hair in quantities of four or replace all the extensions at one time.

I currently offer hand-tied wefts in 18″ and 22″. Not all colors are available in both lengths.

If you are a current client wishing to purchase hair in a different length, you must pre-pay a non-refundable retainer for your new hair at the time of pre-booking, or at least 4 weeks in advance of your next appointment.

Hair Color

Your initial installation appointment includes hair color to both your hair as well as your extension hair. All of my clients receive some sort of hair color service to their natural hair to make sure the extension hair blends beautifully and looks natural and seamless. It is RARE that a client does not get color at her initial installation appointment but it is possible, however, know that this will not affect your appointment price.

No. I understand and appreciate your loyalty to your current stylist. Unfortunately, there’s just no way for me to guarantee consistency or a perfect blend of your extensions with more than one stylist working on your hair color, and it also makes me nervous since not every stylist is used to working with extension hair. Extensions are an investment and I wouldn’t risk potentially ruining them. If you’re ready to take the plunge with extensions with me, you’re all in!

I do NOT take on clients requiring a color correction (dramatic change from dark to light or light to dark), chances are you found me because of a photo you saw of my work. Take a close look at my portfolio on Instagram and that will give you a better idea of my areas of expertise! If you’re still having doubts, maybe I’m not the stylist for you.

No. To keep you looking natural with a seamless blend. Touch ups to the extensions are typically done every time as well as touching up your new growth and toning of the hair in some cases. However, full coloring is not needed at every appointment.

Yes. We will likely schedule your tightening appointments every 8 weeks, and schedule a base color touchup every 4 weeks.

I will have a better idea after our first appointment, and will be 100% up-front with you about what is realistic and achievable. Not everyone’s hair can maintain or endure the lightening processes required to get to their dream-level of brightness and there might be a certain point where we have to create a new end goal. The integrity of your hair will always be my number one priority, and I will always keep you informed through every step of our journey!

Appointment

I’m currently accepting new extensions clients only.

First time installation appointments include; the hair extensions, hair coloring of the extensions, hair coloring your hair, installation extensions, blending of the extensions, home care kit.

I typically block 4-5 hours for the initial installation appointment. If it is my first time seeing you and typically involves more in terms of consultation, hair color, weft selection, and your unique placement.

You’re welcome to bring anything you’d like to snack on during your appointment, but I do have a variety of snacks and sweets available, as well as the coffee, and sparkling waters, seasonal drinks! Should your appointment last longer than 4 hours, I am more than happy order lunch for you.

No! I reserve time at each installation appointment to consult thoroughly before we begin. Because I specialize in hand-tied extensions, I keep plenty of hair in stock to be able to choose a perfect blend that we will custom color for your unique installation, so matching your hair to a swatch ahead of time is unnecessary.

Unfortunately, no. I have a very high level of standard when it comes to the quality and ethical sourcing of the extension hair that I use, and cannot guarantee the quality or know the true source of the hair unless it is purchased directly through me.

As a new client, you’ll still need to reserve a new guest hair extensions experience Be advised the 95% of new guests that have extensions end up with new hair.

If I believe your extension hair is in good condition and can be reused, you will not have to purchase new hair. Keep in mind there is an additional charge for removal of tapes or bonded extensions, and if you have significant tangling or matting.

I currently keep a stock of 18″ and 22″. I do special orders for 14″ and 24″. Not all colors are available in both lengths.

If you are a current client wishing to purchase hair in a different length, you must pre-pay a non-refundable retainer for your new hair at the time of pre-booking, or at least 4 weeks in advance of your next appointment.

I do special orders wavy or curly hair extensions. Note that all curly style extensions come in only 22″ length. Typically special orders take up to one week to receive but we can still reserve your appointment.

Maintenance

Maintenance appointments are recommended every 6-8 weeks.

At each maintenance appointment we will touch up your hair color and your extensions, and you’ll leave feeling as fresh as the day they were first installed!

Your maintenance appointment will typically last 3 hours depending on what we do with your hair color at each visit.

Home Care

Yes! You can style your hair pretty much any way you want to with these extensions and they won’t show! Because of the unique installation method and the extra effort we put into custom coloring your extension hair to blend perfectly with your natural hair, no one will ever know you have them!

While I would love to say yes, salt water and chlorine from swimming pools can potentially reduce the longevity of your extensions. The salt and chemicals can dry out the hair, contributing to tangling and matting issues, and potentially leave them discolored as well.

If you still plan on swimming, getting your hair wet and using a leave-in conditioner before putting your hair into a braid, and then rinsing immediately post-swim, will help avoid damage!

Taking care of extensions at home can be a bit of an adjustment, but most women say it’s like being high-maintenance one or two days a week to be low maintenance every other day! You can read all my tips for taking care of your hair at home by clicking the button below.

Volume service is when I add hair to create more body and fullness. Hair extensions can also be used in certain areas to create the desired look or to thicken certain areas of your hair. This makes an extension service more affordable and is a great option if you have never worn extensions before.

The average length of time for retightening the extensions:

  • Hand-Tied extensions – 6 to 8 weeks
  • I-Tips & Flat-Tips extensions – 2 to 3 months
  • Tape Ins – 6 to 8 weeks
  • Fusion – 3 to 4 months
  • Volume – 4 weeks

The hair needs to be changed out with new hair every 6-12 months. This all will depend on how you take care of the hair extensions.

Yes, you can. Hair extensions that I use are 100% human Remy hair.

Yes, you can. It is possible to highlight the hair that is not attached to hair extensions. If you are wanting to color for grey coverage, the color can safely be applied over the extensions attachment area. Please be advised that you should never have your hair color by a stylist that is unfamiliar with hair extensions.

No, I use reputable hair companies that provide the highest standards of hair. When you purchase hair yourself I can not guarantee my work, the product quality and most of the time there is not enough of the hair and is an incorrect match to the goal you may desire.

The correct products to properly protect your investment is important. All products will be discussed at the time of your consultation.

It is important to wash your natural hair as well as the extensions to avoid any product buildup. I suggest washing the hair every other day to every third day. Use a dry shampoo if you feel like you get oily.
